A large Victorian-style mansion where all shifters are welcome

The gentle calmness made the sweet scents drift ever closer to the male human. He was out of place in these woods and yet he wasn't. It was only to those who didn't know him and his clan that would think him to be out of place. He raised a scarred arm to lift his bangs from his eyes. His hair was raven black and as soon as he had brushed through they had fallen over his black as night orbs. His optics also had no pupils which made it possible to see even without the presence of light.
The young shifter continued on till he had exited the forest. It was a small clearing and a lone Victorian mansion sat in his wake. It was surrounded by a fence. Out of awe he tried the gate only to find it seemed to be stuck, and he thought about going wolf to destroy that awful gate.
He found he stopped himself as the aura around it seemed to calm him. Shaded Blackblood couldn't explain it, it just felt peaceful and homely. He waited patiently at the gate, the only sign he was even there was a yell to let whoever was residing there that he was there also. He stood in his human form attempting to appear a normal human, just in case.

Yawn, stretch, get up, take a shower, eat. Her morning routine was as normal. Clean what needed to be cleaned (the house should be spotless when her parents came home), set the table for lunch, eat, clean the table, clean the plates. Her afternoon routine: done and done. Light the candles (her parents hadn't believed in electric lighting) all around the house, read for two hours ("Reading is important" her father said), make dinner, serve dinner, clean up from dinner, put everything in it's place, go upstairs, take a bath ("Bathing twice a day is the way to keep clean" her mother would say), put on her night gown, and go to bed. Every day the same thing, monotonous at best, downright unbearable at it's worst.
Kitara was in the middle of preparing dinner like usual when a yell broke the constant silence that encased the house. She twitched, looked out the window. She didn't smell her parents, though they were due to come back any day now. She reluctantly set the vegetable peeler down, smoothed out her meticulously ironed apron, and walked to the front door.
Her flat patented-leather shoes made no noise on the hardwood floor as she crossed the foyer and opened the door. The night breeze hit her and she stumbled, not having been outside in two months. The groceries were delivered by a trustworthy servant, and the laundry was done in the basement. Her ebony hair, which was pulled into two identical loose ponytails that hung past her breasts, was whipped up a bit by the breeze. She quickly reached up an arm to put it back into place before stepping out of the safety of her home.
She crossed quickly to the boy, who looked about her age, and stared at him through the gate. Her deep blue eyes examined him thoroughly, and her sharp nose picked up the fact that he was a shifter as well. "Yes? There's something you need?" She wasn't being unfriendly, but had really had no experience in talking to kids her own age. Her parents had home-schooled her and kept her inside mostly, except when her and her mother went shopping. In fact, looking back she couldn't remember a time when she had ever had a lengthy conversation with any of the girls in the nearby town; and she had almost certainly never talked to a boy her age. Yes, her parents were protective, old-fashioned, and a bit odd. But then again, she was odd too.

Shaded's orbs penetrated to that door and saw a female around his age come to the gate. He was put aback by this and almost wanted to run away in fear, but the fact he was the White Rose of his clan stopped him dead, he had to talk to her no matter how bad he didn't want to. He swallowed hard as she asked him what he needed, "I was just curious, did you happen to see others around? I am looking for someone, or rather some people." He decides not to specify fearing his entire clan may be dead or missing.
He slowly sits behind the gate awaiting her action. He has no clue if she even knows the Blood Clan and decides not to mention it in case she was from a warring clan. He hoped in a way she was an allied clan but had no idea and was too scared to ask. He just sat hoping she would bring up clans, as he knew also she must have been a shifter.

Kitara narrowed her eyes when he spoke of others and shook her head. "No one has been near here for three days, and that was only Chare." She paused for a second, twitching when she saw a wrinkle form in her apron. Smoothing it out intently it was a few moments before she looked back at him.
"Who are you looking for Shifter?" She addressed him by his species, as she was unaware of his name. Kitara was debating whether or not to open the gate and let him inside. She didn't scent anything dangerous about him, nor did she smell anyone else on the breeze. She was still hesitant though, who knows what kind of person he is?

Shaded Blackblood took a chance as he didn't see anything hostile about her, all except a hint of fear. How was he to ever know if he didn't at least try. His mouth began to open and before he knew it he spilled everything, "I am Shaded Blackblood of the Blood clan and I am there White Rose," he explained. He waited on her a bit fearful in case the clans were enemies. He decided to explain further, "My parents were the White Rose, they have been killed so I had got the name The Last White Rose of my clan. I have no idea where my clan is and even if they are safe at all."
He waits staring at her hoping she was on his side. He was unsure so he had his hand clenching a knife he happened to keep in his back pocket. He was readying in case he had to break it out and flip it open quickly.

Her facial expression didn't change as he spoke, and when he was done she just looked at him for a while longer. After a few moments she spoke, choosing her words carefully. "What?" She had no idea what he was talking about, and guessed that he must be delusional. White Roses? Clans? What in the world was he talking about? She frowned at him, then chewed on her fingernail. "Disgusting habit, nail biting." She mumbled, acting as if it wasn't her who had said it.
Kitara dropped her hand to the gate, pushing it to the side to let him in. "You must be tired after all of that, please, come in." She was really trying to get him inside so he didn't die of whatever he was ailing from, but she figured it best not to tell him that.
Turning around, she walked calmly back inside, turning in the foyer to see if he had followed.

The night air seemed to annoy him as he stood. He listened happy that she had taken him in. He quickly followed, yet kept some distance to show he meant no harm, "Thanks Miss," he said trying to be polite. He stood behind her looking into her orbs holding his arms behind his back to hide the scarred arms. He would rather not have her see all the cuts as he figured from her reaction she may not have thought he was well. He didn't want her to believe he was mental also...

Kitara turned around and nodded her head at him as he entered the house. "My name is Kitara Raine. Judging by the looks of it we're about the same age, so I'm no 'Miss' to you. And you're welcome." She attempted a playful air, but she was sure he would think she was being rude. Kitara smiled at him, not holding eye contact for very long. When he walked in the door she immediately bit her lip, her eyes locked on a small wrinkle on his shirt. She had to hold back smoothing it out, and managed to turn away in time.
She bustled into the kitchen, getting him a glass of cold water from the icebox, which looked out of place in the old kitchen. "Here." She then went back to cooking, trying not to stare at him too much. She turned around after a while, looking determinedly at the wall next to him. "Would you like some dinner? I made enough for all of us." The way she said it made it seem like she was expecting more people.

Shaded didn't want to be rude, but he realized this was getting him nowhere fast. He looked straight at her, "Um thank you so much for your offer, but I must decline," he said as he headed back for the open door. He needed to find his clan and hoped she didn't think him rude, "I have to find them," he explained as he got to the door where he stood a moment looking back quickly to see her reaction.

Kitara blinked at him, tilting her head to the side. When he walked away she found herself calling him back. "Wait. I'll help you find them if you want." What was she saying? His clan was probably dead or had abandoned him, and even so, she hadn't been out of the house in three months. Still, she couldn't back away from her offer. And who knows, maybe her parents would be waiting for her out there, maybe they just needed her to come remind them where the house is.

Shaded caught sight of her coming towards him. He was grateful for the help but had a feeling she wasn't really into helping him, yet for some reason he decided to let her come along, "Just be informed some other clans may want a 'Piece' of me. You may be in danger in my company." He felt it a sense of duty to warn her that they may encounter rival clans, enemies of his parents who believe differently so therefore they thought war was the only way to settle arguments.

Kitara blinked, biting her lip as she listened to him. First, she was going out of her home, secondly, it could get her killed! She had to say no. "I don't care." ~That's not a no!!!~ "Who knows, maybe my parents will be somewhere out there." She put up a finger, motioning for him to wait, then dashed upstairs, changing into a more appropriate attire.
She came back down the stairs in a dark blue strapless dress and knee-high boots, and the hint of a knife handle could be seen sticking out of her right boot. She may not have been outside much but she did know that she would need to be able to move freely if they encountered enemies. She left her hair how it was, except for a barrette. As she came down she grabbed her mother's necklace and clipped it around her neck, right under her cross choker.
"Sorry. But I figured this," She motioned at the long thin knife that she knew he could see inside her boot, "would come in handy."

Shaded waited patiently as she disappeared. As she returned he looked down and the first thing he saw was the knife, "Damn," was all he said as his gaze had seen it. As she said she thought they could use it he let her know it was a good thing by giving a nod as well as emitting, "Oh Hell yeah!."

She smiled widely as he commented on her knife, tapping the hilt with her fingernail. "Thanks!" She chuckled and smiled again when he confirmed her thoughts. "Good. She hasn't been out of her case in forever, I thought a little fresh air would do her good." She grinned, breaking out of her shell a bit. "You do have one right? If not I have an extra..."
